From as far back
as I can remember I would spend hours drawing and painting. At
the age of 13 I went to an Art School which was a school
attached to the Art College in Nottingham, where I later studied
Graphic Design. After college
I worked in Repertory Theatre as an Assistant Set
Designer before getting married and moving to Cornwall
in 1970. Painting began to take a more prominent role in
my life as my children grew up. Much of my work I would
describe as domestic realism, with maybe a poetic edge
to them.
I use dreams, fears, memories mostly from
childhood,
lines from poems, overheard gossip, everyday
normalities, sometimes a little sinister but mostly cosy. |
